1.Optimizing images is as important as any other content , the first step is to compress the images in which the size of the image gets reduced but the quality of the image remains the same , for this task I  mostly use the free compression tool  which performs the task in few minutes , just upload your image and compress then download it .

2. After uploading your compressed image to the blog post you have to feed in the main keyword of the post in the alt text tag of the image to rank, all the images are recognized by the alt text tag which is alternative text, if you can give the keyword into it then your image is optimized for rankings.

3. One tip I personally discovered when using the keywords in the text or for the images for ranking is that if at all you use any affiliate links , then don't put your keywords in the alt text tag of the images or in the content of your post , if you do so then the your advertiser's site will be ranked instead of ranking your website . So avoid using the keywords in your affiliate links instead use them any where in the post so that your site will rank for....
